PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
This jobs main focus is to assist Granite CSD clients with the trade matching and settlement process. This is a critical role within the team and offers the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to be part of a Market Infrastructure.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Liaise with counterparties in relation to matching and settlements
- You will need to build and maintain healthy client and counterparty relationships to ensure resolution of settlement issues identified
- Maintenance of the settlements module of the Fortress CSD system
- Maintenance of system and market information to ensure accurate and reliable statistics
- Managing the exception management process
- Documenting and maintaining internal procedures and processes
- Compiling incident reports
- Adhoc queries and tasks
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Understand the financial markets and instruments
- Have knowledge about:
- SWIFT processes and flows
- Back office administration
- Be highly computer literate, particularly in Windows based products. Prior exposure to IT systems development and management would be advantageous
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate should have:
- Matric
- Relevant tertiary financial qualification(s) (preferred but not essential)
- Have relevant experience of at least 3 years in a Trade settlements role
- Knowledge of Equities, Bonds and Money Market

The Settlement Specialist will report to the Head of Operations.
